Klondike
Solitaire Games variants we cover
Solitaire splits into four mainstream variants on GamersHell: Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, and Classic.
Klondike Solitaire
Klondike is the variant most players mean when they say Solitaire: seven columns dealt face-down with the top card up, four foundation piles built Ace-to-King by suit, plus a stockpile.
Spider Solitaire
Spider deals all 104 cards face-up across ten columns and rewards forward planning. Build descending same-suit runs to clear them in one-suit, two-suit, or four-suit modes.
FreeCell Solitaire
FreeCell starts with every card visible and gives you four free cells to park cards while you sort, with around 99.999% of deals winnable through perfect play.
Classic Solitaire
Classic Solitaire is the standard single-deck Patience layout: basic Klondike rules without modern app polish, scoring tricks, or daily-challenge layers.
How to play Solitaire Games
Solitaire is played by moving cards between three zones: tableau columns, foundation piles built Ace-to-King by suit, and a stockpile or free cells in reserve.
Controls
- Click
- Select a card or stack
- Drag
- Move a card or stack to another column or foundation pile
- Double-click
- Send a card to its foundation pile automatically if it fits
- Stock click
- Flip one or three cards from the stockpile based on the variant
Tips
- Deal cards into the variant's layout: seven columns for Klondike, ten for Spider, eight for FreeCell.
- Scan the layout for moves you can make now, looking for descending alternating colours in Klondike or descending same-suit runs in Spider.
- Move cards or stacks between tableau columns, or up to the foundation piles.
- Flip cards from the stockpile when you stall: Turn-1 reveals one card at a time, Turn-3 reveals three.
- Send each Ace to a foundation pile as it appears, then build 2 through King in suit order.
- Win by clearing all 52 cards onto the foundations.
Why Solitaire Games stands out
GamersHell collects Solitaire titles that run instantly in the browser without download, signup, or paywalls hiding behind 'free' branding.
- No installation or signup. Every Solitaire game loads in your browser tab and starts dealing immediately, with no app store, no account, and no email capture.
- Real game variety. Klondike, Spider, FreeCell and Classic each get multiple distinct implementations hand-selected so layout and rules actually differ rather than just card-back artwork.
- Mobile-first card handling. Touch-drag and double-tap-to-foundation work on every modern phone browser, with card sizing that scales to narrow screens without pinch-zoom.
- Persistent player leaderboards. Best-time and longest-streak boards run per game, so the daily Klondike race stays competitive over weeks rather than resetting each session.
Solitaire Games FAQ
Solitaire on GamersHell answers the most common questions below about variants, rules, free access, mobile play, and the difference between Klondike Turn-1 and Turn-3.
- How do you play Solitaire?
- Solitaire is played by moving cards from tableau columns to four foundation piles, building each foundation from Ace up to King by suit. Each variant deals slightly differently: Klondike uses seven columns and a stockpile, Spider uses ten columns and no stockpile, FreeCell deals every card face-up.
- Are Solitaire games free on GamersHell?
- Yes, every Solitaire game on GamersHell is free to play in your browser with no download or signup required. There is no premium tier, no in-app purchase, and no time-limited free trial.
- What is the best Solitaire variant for beginners?
- Klondike is the easiest Solitaire variant for beginners because the rules are short: build alternating colours descending in the columns, build up by suit on the foundations, win when all 52 cards are stacked. Most players already know it from Windows Solitaire.
- What is the difference between Klondike Turn-1 and Turn-3?
- Turn-1 flips one card at a time from the stockpile, so every card cycles through the draw pile and most deals are winnable. Turn-3 flips three at a time and only the top one can be played, making more deals impossible and rewarding card counting.
- What is the difference between Spider 1-suit, 2-suit, and 4-suit?
- 1-suit Spider uses 104 cards of the same suit, the easiest mode for learning. 2-suit uses two suits as the most-played intermediate level. 4-suit uses all four suits and is the standard tournament difficulty, where only same-suit sequences clear as one stack.
- Can you play Solitaire on mobile?
- Yes, every Solitaire game on GamersHell renders responsively for mobile browsers with touch drag-and-drop and double-tap-to-foundation gestures. No app install needed; the games run in any modern mobile browser.
- Is every Solitaire game winnable?
- Not every Solitaire game is winnable: Klondike and Spider create some impossible layouts, estimated 15-20% in Turn-3 Klondike. FreeCell is the exception, with all cards visible from start and four free cells letting around 99.999% of deals be solved with perfect play.
- What are the most popular Solitaire games?
- The most popular Solitaire games on GamersHell right now are Ultimate Spider Solitaire, Solitaire Klondike Eternal Russian Classic, Freecell Classic, Solitaire Freecell Frenzy and Klondike Solitaire Turn 3.
- What are the newest Solitaire games?
