God of War: Amazon series should remain true to the original
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s hit video game, God of War (2018), and its sequel has already won several awards – clearly illustrating that the tale of Kratos and Atreus have been an enchanting journey for gamers. This gives Amazon a unique opportunity to transform this series into an exciting live-action program. While it is true that previous attempts at turning games into movies haven’t always had promising outcomes, we firmly believe that with God of War it will be different!
In an interview with Collider, Vernon Sanders, the leader of television at Amazon Studios, expressed his assurance in adapting The Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings due to its prior success. He assured that this series would remain true to its source material and be equally captivating as previous renditions.
“We’re incredibly good at adaptations, from Invincible to The Boys. I mean, we just covered so many of them, right? So we know there is a passionate fan base for God of War. But what we’re always looking for is if there’s a real emotional core, if there’s a real narrative story, and I think that’s part of what makes God of War so special.”).

The Kratos saga began in 2005, when the renowned warrior was charged by Poseidon to slay the Hydra. Fast forward to 2018 and an older Kratos comes into play, one who is forced to confront his previous mistakes while raising Atreus alone following Faye’s death.
